An in game meeting of the Ambassador's Council was held on Saturday January 15th.  Guide Altea, Guide Dreknor and Senior Guide Kerowynne attended. (the log is from Balar's perspective so You = Balar)  Here is the log:

Kerowynne says, 'It is truly a wonderful thing to see so many banded together who share the love of this world, and want to offer thier services to better it.'
Xoleres notes two key guilds missing.

Kerowynne says, 'I have been serving the Order of Bristlebane for many months, and have often had the pleasure of seeing those in your various houses act for the good of the many.'

You say, 'May I ask a question of the guides?'
Altea says, 'Certainly Balar )'
Kerowynne nods, "Of course!"

You say, 'Have the guides read our discussion of the /roleplay switch ideas?'
Altea says, 'I must admit myself I only had time to scan it before coming on today Balar, my apologies. But from what we have discussed in our emails back and forth, I think you are on to something. Could you share for the other two?'

Kerowynne says, 'Well, I would address the issue of Gms and guides involving in your storyline.'
Kaia says, 'Tis a meeting, I would hope we can all share our views if not there is no reason for us all to be here.'

Kerowynne says, 'This is a rather touchy issue. The primary concern of Verant is that of appearing to play favorites.'
Guttin says, 'Is this the first meeting ever done?'
You say, 'No, this is the second such meeting.'
Zapz says, 'Yes but in this story line how so guilds with evil and good races fit in'
You say, 'We are asking that it NOT be OUR storyline but rather Verants!'
Guttin says, 'I would like to introduce myself i am Guttin ambassidor of the Leaders Of Justice'
Narn says, 'Welcome guttin'
Kerowynne says, 'Althought we are free to offer advice, and we do want to attend as many events as posible, it is difficult to offer special events or things that would appear as favors" to the council. I have read Belar's latest message to Altea, and I do think that'

Kerowynne says, 'It would be a wonderful things if Verant can work with the players to offer an event for all.'
Zapz says, 'I would also like to introduce mtself i am Zapz T'dow ambassador for the Crimson Draconia'
Altea says, 'Greetings, Zapz'
Narn says, 'Welcome also to you zapz'
Guttin says, 'May i bring up a new issue?'
Kerowynne says, 'It is a bit of a novel idea, and I will be presenting it through the chain to see what kind of response we can get.'
Athene says, 'I avoid the events for all. Too much lag and too little communication.'
Kaia says, 'And I am Kaia Alphawolf Mistress of Forgotten LEgion.'
You say, 'What I'd like to convince Verant of is the value of using player leaders to involve MORE players in the events without creating massive events.... thus not playing favorites (I realize a touchy subject with Verant).'

Aruyall nods at Athene.
Zapz bows before Altea.
Kaia says, 'I too Athene avoid them too many kool dewds looking for kool lewt not my idea of fun I am sorry to say.'
Kerowynne says, 'Aye, Belar, and if you have specific ideas on how to do that, I do encourage you to bring them to Altea and myself.'
Altea says, 'He does have a proposed storyline which I have forwarded to you earlier today, though my mail is a bit slow )'
You say, 'Guttin, did you have something to bring up?'
Guttin says, 'A different issue Aye'
Athene says, 'The roleplaying behind those events isn't known by most of the participants, in my opinion.'
You say, 'Let's hear it but try not to digress.'
Aruyall says, 'My personal opinion on events, If you draw them out for long periods of time many of the players looking for instant gratification loose intrest and you see the true RolePlayers continue with the RP storyline'

Altea nods.
You say, 'Publicity is a key factor in an ongoing storyline and that is how we the Ambassadors can help.'
Guttin says, 'I being a warrior Think that WAlking Running, ports and agets should not be the only forms of transportation'
Kerowynne says, 'Well, there are pluses and minuses to that.'
Guttin says, 'Boats also'
Kerowynne says, 'There are times when certain events occur that last longer . we have found in some instances, those interested in .'
Kerowynne coughs.
Athene says, 'I'm confused, Balar.'
You say, 'What confusion Athene?'
Kaia wonders if Kerowynne is ok or if she needs a cough drop.
Pinene says, 'Question on events'
Kerowynne says, 'Cool Loot, do not leave, but stay, hoping for something. What all too often ends up happening is that so many arrive that the load on the zone is too much, causing otherworldly technical problems.'

Athene says, 'Are we asking Verant to create roleplays for us '
You say, 'Guttin, agreed, could you bring that to the Ambassador's site for discussion so we can bring it to the guides and Verant?'
Pinene says, 'Will there be more added to the stoyline that happen in kithcor forest'
Kaia says, 'Balar I am not interested in Verant creating my roleplays for me I enjoy writing them out meself.'
Kerowynne says, 'We can't confirm or deny that Pinene'

Athene says, 'Why can't the roleplaying information show up periodically on the log in news screen.'
Kerowynne winks at Xoleres.

Drethlor says, 'I just want to point out, for the guide's sake, that most of The Catacombs are open to the Public sorry for the interruption .'
Kerowynne says, 'That is one area where Verant already knows we need improvement.'
Athene says, 'Verant's roleplay storylines, that is.'
You say, 'Guttin, could you wait until later... roleplay was expected to be the primary issue tonight.'
Zapz says, 'The kithicor zone is not good for roleplay'
Kerowynne says, 'Especially in such a massive undertaking, where there is much happening on both the good and evil sides, where there is very little cross over, some of the story will be lost to one side or the other.'

Guttin says, 'You all must realize that GM's are constantly SWAMPED by issues'
You say, 'To have a living Novel the players need to know the key characters.'
Guttin says, 'I being a Former Counsilor on the other game Ultima Online Knows this'
You say, 'We need a common storyline for us to weave OUR events around.'
Pinene says, 'I now, but i liked the idea of certain event changing the world is someway bigger than me'

Athene says, 'I key players need to walk the world more than just at the time of an event.'
You say, 'Exactly Pinene, many players want to be part of a greater story even if their part is small.'
Drethlor says, 'Darktide has a good plotline forming, on the darker side of things, but we are not ready for full public release yet.'
You say, 'Yes Athene, that's how we as leaders can provide those common character names for others to play around.'
Guttin says, 'Actually i think that every religion should have a diffeernt Story line'
Drethlor says, 'I can say it will NOT end in some half contrived fight in the Arena : )'

Drethlor says, 'It does involve a power we are evolving which goes beyond the gods" of Norrath'
Kerowynne says, 'Verant is working on better ways to let more people know what is happening to shape the world. I can't be too specific, but this is an important issue.'
You say, 'I think most everyone here agrees we do NOT want massive zone crashing events, but do want an ongoing storyline so that players can get to know each other and feel involved in a greater story.'
Altea says, 'These are all VERY good ideas; some conflicting, but it is a start. I like that some of the guilds are forging their own way in creating stories'
Athene says, 'Will it eventually be possible for more than two guilds to be at war with one another?'
Pinene says, 'Thats a cool one'
Kerowynne says, 'Unsure Athene. It is something that I can bring up with Verant, however.'
Lwenye says, 'I expect that is a concern, because I have to say that I am not sure of events happening at any time - where can I get the info for my guild?'
Kaia says, 'Balar, I understand where you are coming from, but if we are restricted to wrapping" our storylines around yours, then we are limited again aren't we?'
You say, 'Guides, could you please address the multiple guild war issue with Delanus and Verant?'
Altea says, 'Certainly'
Athene says, 'Every roleplay that my guild has been involved in has had to artifically end at the ARena zone for other players to participate.'
Kerowynne says, 'I have a weekly report discussion with Verant as the representative senior of Bristlebane. I can at least make sure the idea is heard if nothing else.'

Kerowynne jots herself a note.
Kaia nods and agrees with Athene.
You say, 'No, no Kaia, there should be NO restriction to wraping around the official storyline.'
Altea says, 'Before Kerowynne must leave for a meeting, might I ask that you present some of your remaining ideas, so that she will have a full slate to take back with her for discussion with the seniors involved?'

Lemminkainen says, 'If my guild were producing an event, is there a process by which I could invite Verant to be involved?'
Altea says, 'As you know, this is the first of many meetings to meld these ideas, but a good place to start is to lay everything on the table at this time, so that we may have some answers for you at the next )'
Athene says, 'Most of our ideas are discussed on the Guild Council board.'
Kerowynne says, 'I do apologize, honorable ambassadors, but I fear that I am being called from this gathering. As, Altea says, any last thoughts would be good.'
Kerowynne says, 'There is no method of this right now.'
Lwenye says, 'Might I suggest something that came up at my guild meeting last night?'
Altea says, 'Sure, Lwenye, please do )'
Kaia says, 'Please, the multiple guildwar issue is a HUGE one to all of us.'
You say, 'Please read the catacombs board Kerowynne, you'll find our thoughts there.'
Lwenye says, 'I realize I need to put it on the board'
Athene says, 'HUGE'
Altea says, 'I will forward the address on to Kerowynne with my mailing tonight'
Kerowynne nods at Athene.
Lwenye says, 'Well we have a concern with the roleplaying tag - we cannot tell who is on in the guild if our rp tag is on'
Lwenye says, 'As we enjoy roleplay and still like to know who is on - might this somehow be changed'
Narn says, 'Good point'
Kaia says, 'So we would most appreciate it if you could bring it to Verants attention even if they don't do anyting immediately at least they have heard" us.'
You say, 'Our guild does NOT use the roleplaying tag because it makes us anon.'

Kerowynne says, 'I think that those three main issues - being able to war with multiple guilds, a way to use the roleplaying tag without losing guild affiliation, and a method to invite Verant to share in player run events is probably a good start .'
