Lanys T'Vyl vs Firionna Vie
A semi-official summary of the events that have occurred in this ongoing GM run dynamic plot.

Key characters:

Lanys T'Vyl  - daughter of Innoruuk - Lanys is "a completely bloodthirsty wench".  "She is nothing but Hate."
Laarthik - teacher of Lanys T'Vyl

Firionna Vie - "the sword maiden"

Carson McCabe - ruler of High Hold

The events that have been played out so far:

1. Lanys makes her first appearance.  She claims to be the daughter of Innoruuk.  She is pretty weak, con wise, but kicks everybody's butt when they attack her.  She leads a party of dark elves into befallen to recover some armor that is supposed to make her stronger.

2. A "sword maiden" is spotted in gfay.  She has named pixies dancing around her.  She is searching for some story.  A drunkard overhears a child's nursery rhyme and eventually is convinced to tell this story to the maiden. In excitement, the players and she solve the puzzle of the rhyme, they head to lfay, find the unicorn, and a bond is formed.  Tunare's voice is heard across the zone, whispering approval.  They fade into the forest.

3. Lanys shows again.  He con is higher.  She is wearing the armor they recovered before.  Again, she tells her story of the coming battle in the heavens and its reflection on the world of Norrath.  She leads her army of blue skinned devils to Najena, where they fight and finally recover more of this abhorrent armor.  It is explained that the beasties she defeats are remnants of a powerful fighting force of innoruuk, and the armor is imbued with the power of their life force, which has been channeled into it.

4. The sword maiden appears again in lfay.  She is seeking someone named "Galeth".  The unicorn prods her into gfay, and then to Felwithe. Everywhere the maiden walks, animals flock to her.  She is natural and bright and beautiful, and truly Tunare's chosen.  Once in the city, she finds Galeth, and eventually it is discovered that she was the daughter of the King, taken at birth, due to some political problems.  The ghost of the Queen appears and validates this.  Suddenly, her name changes.  She is no longer "A Sword Maiden" -- She is Firionna Vie.  Again, Tunare's voice is heard, with her approval.

5. A Tier`Dal stationed in highkeep is alerted to a strange mineral by her goblin informants.  She grows excited, and demands an Orcish escort to Neriak, where she consults with Laarthik (Lanys' teacher).  She is sent back to continue her spying, but is slain by the forces of light on the way back. The note she was carrying from Laarthik is recovered
by a woodelf scout, who rushes it back to Carson McCabe, ruler of high keep.

6. A council meeting is called by Carson McCabe.  Delegates from the good races of the land (at least the ones that are considered intelligent and noble enough to be there) are called.  They are discussing the need to call in reinforcements.  They learn that the dwarves won't come..they need to protect Kaladim, the Erudites are "considering" it.  The humans of Qeynos
are too besieged by gnolls and bloodsabers.  The freeport factions are at war within themselves and neither the militia or knights will risk leaving their portions of the city unmanned.  The delegates grow worried, and then a voice from the crowd rings out "You are not alone!" and Galeth and Firionna Vie appear, pledging the support of the High Elves.

7. Lanys appears again. This time her target is solusek and more armor to increase her power for the coming war.  She is attacked by a lone assassin on the way.  He is eventually dispatched.  Once in Solusek, the armor is recovered.

8. A delegation from highpass is sent to meet the first of the arriving high elves in freeport.  On the way back to highpass, dark elves spies are spotted, but they fade away before anyone can find out what they have learned.

9. Laarthik has been informed of the mighty warriors that have been called in to lead the forces of light.  Worried, he knows that he must find those of equal strength and fame.  He sends messengers to call in three impressive warriors --  a Troll of the Brokenskull clan, a Tier`Dal that has long been stationed in Splitpaw, and Donk, of the Crushbone Orcs.

10. Balar (the dwarf) leads an army of the Forces of Light in a pre-emptive assault against Lanys T'Vyl at Neriak.  The intent was to forestall the rumored dark elven invasion of High Hold.  Approximately 150 players were involved in this.  The lead scouting forces met unusually strong forces of dark elven guards (news of the army marching had forewarned the Teir'dal).  Once the main army arrived at Nektulos a march was made to the gates of Neriak.  Lanys T'Vyl appeared, she was completely outraged and furious that anyone would dare attack her home city.  Lanys and her guards attacked the forces of light and pushed them back.  Balar, seriously wounded was able to withdraw still alive after standing toe to toe vs Lanys.  Balar continued to attempt to engage Lanys in dialog as she encouraged her followers to retaliate with an attack on Freeport.

11) Lanys T'Vyl and her evil host attacked East Commons, West Commons, Kithicor and Rivervale during an assault on High Hold (they never reached High Hold).  Balar was placed in command of the defenses of High Hold by Lt. Ovilion.  The evil host was defeated but in the process Kithicor has become "haunted".  Lanys T'Vyl was taken down (but not slain?).  Lord Tephys was slain.

12) (December 4, 1999 - 9 PM Central) Innoruuk shows up in East Commons, the zone crashes (along with bringing down several other zones).  The GMs gather in the Temple of the Dead in Neriak and Laarthik is raised from the dead.  They talk some and say they seek a gnome.  Everyone goes chasing off to steamfont, we chase them back to Neriak (using Teleports) and the event is over.  More details: Dolis Sha'Vlal with Vizier something or other arrived at the lodge of the dead to summon the Ghost of Laathik. He revealed to us that lanys still lived but that her body could not enter this plane, her soul was locked in Hate. We then went to find this gnome in steamfront as Dolis had seen in a vision that this Gnome had knowledge of soul binding. 3 high level PC's were then chosen from the crowd, after reconvening at the lodge, to go to hate to retrieve her soul (under GM protection).. a Wizard for transport, a Necromancer to conduct the ceremony and a Shadowknight (as a guardian i assume). They went and spoke to innoruuk (under GM control) and then returned to steamfront to speak with the drake again. The drake required of us a vessel for himself as well since he was tired of being a big blue drake. Lanys was reformed, and the drake turned into a Gnome. I'm left wondering if this is the last we've seen of this gnomish necromancer.

Speculation:

Lanys T'Vyl will return.

Facts and Myths:

Myth: Lanys T'Vyl is invulnerable
Fact: There was a programming error that resulted in Lanys T'Vyl not being able to be targeted during ONE event.  She is in fact able to be slain.  She has never been "scratched" though and it is hard to imagine what or who could actually hurt her.
