A note for people, master jewelers are very difficult to find (only two on Bristlebane), but they make excellent magic items for people. These jewelries can grant +7 or more to one or two stats. But expect to pay a lot of money for these, since the cost of making jewlery is very high, at least 100pp each try, and jewelers fail two out of three tries for some tough pieces.
Before I start, as a general rule, KNOW WHEN TO RUN. If soloing, and you find you are at 50% health, and the mob has more, then you should seriously consider running. It is always useful to know where to run to, guards, the zone, gate. In groups, it is the leader's responsibility to decide when to retreat. By retreating, you ensure the body will be at least closer to the zone, and maybe you will all survive. It is imperative at high levels to avoid death. The experience lost in one death can take 1-3 hours to recover at high levels. This is especially true for warrior and hybrid classes. A death often means a long run back to the corpse. Clerics have a line of revive/ resuscitate/ resurrect spells, which will help, but you can't count on having a cleric nearby.
I will start with some general tips, and list all the places I have been to.
The following are some of the tips for adventures:
Some places I found that can be good experience.
Bandit camps, they are everywhere in Karanas and are not usually camped. They have 5-7 bandits usually, so a group of 6 can do well there. They tend to be 12-16 in level. Watch out for named bandits, and the casters are dangerous. Lull would be very important here. Good money.
Derv camps, they tend to be camped, but the one in west commonlands is not as heavily camped. Good experience for 12-16. Good money. Watchout for giants and kodiaks.
Lesser Faydark bandit camps. There are two camps of bandit, they usually only have 3 bandits in them, very good experience for a group of 3. Good money.
Oasis Croc hunts. The Crocs and Caimans start at level 15, and DW Crocs can be up to level 22. Watch out for sand giants and LockJaw. Tends to be heavily camped, not very good loot, but good XP.
Upper Guk. This far away dungeon in the troll country is a good place to find netted and woven armor. Starting at level 16, you should be able to hunt there, but watch out for the trains. This place is very dangerous for that. It is advised for only evil races, and casters who can bind themselves to the entrance. Woven armor is med level magic user armor. Netted armor is very good for monks, since they are extremely low weight. Netted gloves allow monks to attack magical creatures.
Lavastorm, a good place for magician and druids. Most of the mobs here are summoned variety. The loot is very good, and tend to be sparsely populated. To get to there, hug the edge of the darkelf forest, and swim across the river. Its pretty safe for good races. For levels 12-16
Najena, a good place for level 20ish. Here you will find large bronze armor, tenacle whips and barbed leather whips. Also deep down, you will find some interesting items.
Beholder Maze, I would avoid this place unless you have to. Its a good place for one thing -> Boned Bracers, its +3int +3wis, and VERY RARE. They are found off the evil eyes.
Aviak village, good for soloings 20+. This place is best for low 20s, since you will get the most variety of targets. Good loot.
Gnoll/Undead camp in Lake Rathe, good for 15-25. During the day, there are gnoll guards, shamans and nobles. At night there are tough undead (20ish). Watch out for Prince Kyrmt. (no joke)
Aviak Guards in Lake Rathe, good for low to med 20s. No faction hit if you just kill the guards. Best taken on by a warrior caster pair.
Mistmoore, good XP and loot for low to med 20s. Haven't gone deep inside yet. You will find gargoyle eyes that stack and sells for 10pp. Best way to store wealth.
Mammoth in Everfrost, if you want to run around and find these giant beasts, they can yield good loot (the tusks are 8pp). They are for med 20s.
Permafrost, a dangerous dungeons, goblins hate most people, and they will attack you on sight even if they are green. Good loot, the entrance area is good for 20-25. Deep inside is very dangerous. Not recommmended unless with a full group of 25+.
Cazic Thul, good experience, good loot. This is the home of Rubicit
Armor, the single most important armor for most classes. They are
very light, and the plate will increase your regenerations of HP.
The pieces sell for 200-1000pp. If you are camping for these items,
prepare to spend weeks before getting all the pieces. This place
is good for levels 24-36ish.
Also found here, the claw.
Good luck adventuring in Norrath.
Odyssy.
