Guild Rules
New Members
To become a new guild member any applicant must adventure with at least
two existing guild members. The guild members will then submit a
recommendation to the guild master and a vote of the high council will
be made.
Grounds for Expulsion
Any member who engages in unfriendly acts may be kicked out. Such
acts would include:
-
price gouging - charging any other player a significantly higher
amount than an item is worth.
-
bait and switch - offering to sell an item but delivering something
similar but not matching the advertised qualities.
-
unsportsmanlike combat - letting another player die, then taking
full exp for the kill and collecting the loot.
-
abandonment - leading another player to a dangerous and/or unfamiliar
location and then leaving them.
Financing
A potential need for guild funds is recognized. It is difficult
to be precise about this as we do not know what Verant will do for us in
this regard. Potential uses for guild funds:
-
rent on a guild house
-
financing for quest treasures
-
emergency fund for guild members that have been struck by a server catastrophe
(I've heard tales of identical names not being caught by the character
creation process resulting in swapped characters).
Fundraising methods:
-
Initial membership fee (this is the simplest and fairest to apply)
-
Taxation (something like 1 silver per week)
-
Trade events (difficult to organize, impossible to enforce a perfectly
fair system)
Funds Management - we don't know what Verant will do for us as far as a
"guild bank" so details on this will have to wait until later. Distribution
of funds would be subject to a decision of the High Council.
Encouraged Activities
The following activities are strongly encouraged by our guild:
-
Escort services - providing protection and guidance for players
trying to travel.
-
Newbie education and assistance - Verant provides minimal information,
thus newbies can benefit greatly from guidance and advice (try to make
sure that the advice you give is accurate!). Also Everquest can be
frustratingly difficult for low level characters (especially 1st to 4th
levels) and thus newbies may enjoy the game a lot more if they are given
a fair start (a better weapon and/or some items of armor). I'd like
to have a stockpile of cheap armor and weapons available for distribution
to new characters.
-
Enjoyment of the game / roleplaying - as opposed to power leveling.
In our opinion making a new friend is far more important than gaining another
level.
