Version
B5
Note: Mexico is used to trigger our "timer" events (every
three months), this doesn't impact Mexico's gameplay other than having to click
"ok" every three months.
Note: Costa Rica has a couple events coded in to automatically
pause the game during our testing.
Temporary Notes:
- Polish "Danzig" event short circuited for historical testing
so that Poland never ceeds Danzig.
Coming Soon:
Version B5:
- German Naval OOB tweaked to more accurately represent 1936-38 submarines

development
- Adjusted build times (and costs) for Italian battleships Littorio and Veneto
to be more historically accurate
Version B4:
- Croatia event provinces modified for more playability
- Submarine surface attack ratings reduced one point

Version B2:
- After the creation of Vichy historical forces are given back to Vichy so
they aren't undefended.

variable bug.
- Pilot Training techs added to Air Doctrines
- Air Doctrine levels spread out more (take longer to research) to cover a
longer section of the war
- Events tweaked to avoid excessive industry gain

- Minor tweaks to Finland
Version A9:
- Paratroops made more expensive
- Fixed major glitch in tech gains effecting the economy (France, UK,
USA, Australia) and Soviet military.
Version A8:
- Several AI files tweaked to produce more historic force mixes.
- Added a pre-war AI file for UK (which allows better settings for the British
Expeditionary Force for France). Also UK AI files enhanced for better force
mix building and garrison settings.
- Adjustments to war economy events for France and UK.
- 1936 French airforce adjusted to be more historic (fewer bombers)
- Engineer Brigade values adjusted
- Vichy event restored basically to it's v1.05c form to avoid weird problems
with Vichy being invaded.
Version A7:
- USA leader Lee, traits fixed.
- Resources reworked again to account for democracies getting 75% resources
from colonies while others only get 50%.
Version A6:
- Movement penalties reduced significantly. This helps avoid an attack into
unfavorable terrain and/or unfavorable weather becoming an absolute disaster.
It's still a serious penalty but not quite as disasterous as vanilla v1.06.
- Economic trades reworked based on study of the AI's limited ability to cope
with the need to stockpile supplies.
- All movement rates increased by 1 (Infantry now back to the same as vanilla
v1.06)
- Sphere of influence events toned down.
Version A5:
- All minor country AI files reworked (some changes are significant!).
Version A4:
- Major work on numerous AI files
- Artillery techs more expensive
Version A3:
- Minor.ai (used by 25 countries!) dramatically improved.
- AI files not being used have been deleted (clean up).
- Italian & Japanese AI improved
Version A2: (Note: most AI files are still in need of major attention)
- Colony resource values fixed for the v1.06 changes
- Massive fix to AI files for evaluation of the value of a division
Version A1: (Note: this is
intended for testing only!)
- Note: most of the AI files still need to be reworked. All of the
Starfire specific AI files are not included!
- Czechoslovakia manpower corrected
- All aircraft are intended to represent 50% more aircraft than vanilla v1.06.
This means you should be building fewer aircraft.
- Manpower usage of Strategic bombers reduced (4 to 3); manpower usage of
fighters increased (1 to 2); manpower of dive bombers, tactical bombers, torpedo
bombers standardized at 2.
- Note: v1.06 fixed "ground_def_eff" so raising it now reduces the
casualties a nation takes (it used to impact the enemy's ground defence).
- Ethiopia Campaign: Population (manpower) and geography of Ethiopia adjusted
to far more historic values; Italian forces more historically deployed; Italian
supply stockpile made in Asmara; Ethiopian commanders ratings adjusted more
reasonably. Ethiopia AI (defensive.ai) tweaked specifically for Ethiopia.
Note: starting with Starfire version A1 this mod is
designed for Paradox HoI v1.06.
Version 0.99q:
- Manpower penalties for Germany conquering Balkan "allies" increased
significantly

- Soviet manpower boosted in reaction to Barbarossa
- Visibility and detection adjusted for surface naval vessels
- Province manpower values adjusted more historically (for mostly Russia).
- Josef Wirmer changed from "Man of the People" to "Silent
Lawyer".
